What do we cover in “Fly Without Fear”? Our debilitating fears are both rational and irrational, or psychological. That is, there are rational concerns that need to be addressed, but there are also psychological problems, such as phobias, that come into play. Our courses address both the rational and psychological aspects of aviophobia.
On the rational side: We explain how planes fly, how planes are built and tested, all the noises you hear and sensations you feel when flying, what happens when planes experience air turbulence, how many different safety systems enable a plane to fly you to and from your destination safely.
All this is designed to give you full trust in the technical side of flying, which relates to the rational side of the brain. That’s all vital, but it’s only one half of the problem.
On the psychological side: The other half, the psychological side, is equally important. This is where we examine our phobias, discussing:
